As Quakers, we believe that there is something of God in everyone; all are welcome, regardless of their faith, ethnic background and sexual or gender identity. In our Meetings for Worship we seek a gathered stillness, in which people of widely differing views and experiences find an underlying unity. We warmly invite you to come and share this time with us.

We hold Meetings for Worship on Sunday mornings (including Children’s Meeting) and Thursday evenings. The first Thursday of each month is an outreach Meeting, at which newcomers are particularly welcome.

Important note from our Clerk (23-02-22): Although the government has relaxed the Covid rules, we still need to take precautions to keep everyone safe.

  • We recommend that everyone should continue to wear a face covering when moving around the building but can remove it when sitting in worship or ministering.
  • We should continue to maintain a spacing of 1.5 metres between people whenever possible.
  • Doors are opened before and after worship for extra ventilation but, at the request of the Northcourt centre, the fire escape door is now closed during worship to retain heat.
  • If possible, please take a lateral flow test before coming to meeting and do not attend if you have a positive result or if you have any Covid symptoms.

At present we meet as follows:

In person (socially distanced)

  • 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays: 10:15-11:15am at the Northcourt Centre, Northcourt Road
  • 2nd Sunday: 10:30-11:30am in the garden at St Ethelwold’s, 30 East St Helen Street
  • 1st Thursday (outreach): 7:30-8:15pm indoors at St Ethelwold’s, 30 East St Helen Street
